Renga all welcome
Saturday October 21st drop in between 10am-4pm Millenium Green, Longdales Road, opposite Kings Norton Cemetery & junction with Icknield Street - there is no cost.
Rengas are collaborative poems - made up of haiku like verses -led by a recognised renga master and following rules that date back to the middle-ages the poem is built around the seasons, the moon and love.
This is the 4th in a series of 6 renga held in and around the 3-Estates - you'll see our gathering place - a gazebo - and us in a circle - up on the green - this is our Autumn renga - all seasons flow through the renga but Spring and Autumn are featured more heavily.
We'll be there from 10 till 4 but please feel free to drop in and sit with us both in the silence of writing and the joy of sharing.
much love to all

it was a wonderful time
Gavin Wade, Rita Fletcher and i arrive early and in the drizzle and wind put up the renga pavillion just by the flower on top of the hill on the green - and white beanbags for poets to sit on...
we were then joined by five more to make eight in what were not the greatest weather conditions - to sit in a circle and make our poem we there from 9.30 till 4.40 - we''ll share the poem and photos here later
the energy created was immense - the pavillion (a white gazebo!) could be seen for miles around and the cars/vans/lorries were tooting their horns to us in a supportive fashion
here the process is more important perhaps than the product
the worst of the weather held off untill the very moment that we finished and then the most torrential rainfall occured
will post up when the next one is - hope to see folk there if only for a while

Hi it looks like she has a special robe for it? Any ceremonies attached to it would be really interesting to hear about.
Please post details of the next one. What will you use to keep warm- any heaters? Cos it'll not be warm at all!
I have a portable gas heater if that's any use. It's like a proper fire. Love Kath
