So, I'm a music geek. I thought it would be interesting if we talked about our favorite artsits, songs, albums, whatever.
So, here goes, feel free to say "Who is that?" at any time:
The Beatles The Replacements (a very close second) Counting Crows Social Distortion Rhett Miller Johnny Cash
Anyone feel like sharing?

It's one of my favorites, Bebe. That one's on "Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell" or The CD I can't seem to find when I want to play it. Jim Carroll, I need to read some of his writing. I love the song People who Died. If you're in to the whole poet/singer/philosopher of sorts thing, check out some of Henry Rollins' spoken word stuff. It's pretty good and extremely funny.

Yep, that would be him. He fronted Black Flag then Rollins Band. He's also been in some movies, mostly bad ones. But, I still come running from the other room when they're on. I've got this minor Henry Rollins fixation. That's a great version of Bad Luck by the way. My brother says the line "always scratchin at the 8 ball" is the best way to describe my pool playing abilities.

Hey bebe,
Thanks for the tip on Jim Carroll. I managed to get Catholic Boy the other night and you're right. It makes People Who Died pale in comparison.

Owwww, I was just playing "Step Right up" Ok, can I do my music geek happy dance now? I'm in a very Tom Waits kind of mood tonight. Of course, I think there are very few moods that don't call for some Tom Waits followed by some Nick Cave.

I'm looking up Chris Whitley right now. Hadn't heard of him before. Ok, here's a joke for you if you like the blues.
How many guitarists does it take to cover a Stevie Ray Vaughn tune?
Apparently, all of them. (moan, groan, I know it's a bad joke)
I'm in a very Tool mood tonight. Loud, angry, pis$ed at the world. Maynard James Keenan is great for those go straight to hell type songs.
Earlier, it was Kirsty MacColl, but I needed something with more of an edge to it. When I get around to Janis, it's time to pass the Kleenex and the hard liquor.

Nobody can name a song like Tom Waits. "The Piano has Been Drinking", "Warm Beer and Cold Women", "Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis", "16 Shells From a 30 Ought 6." Rhi hates his voice. I asked my friends who did the guitar work on "Big Time", I'm positive one of them will know.
