We have had evil storms and some places locally are flooded (...)
My cat Jet hates it. She sits by her cat flap and look out turns around and moans at me as if I can make it stop so she can go out. I need to go out today to pay some bills I hope the wind dies down a bit before we go out.

I am so pleased I am not the only one who does things like that LOL It is a grey day so far with the promise of more rain on its way. What's the betting we have a hose pipe ban this year? All the floods we are having you would think the water levels would be up a fair bit.

I know we Brits are known for grumbling about the weather but we do need some real winter weather here to kill of the bugs. Winter is more like Autumn and a warm one at that. Still we could have a late winter and end up with loads of snow in March you never know what to expect these days. Did anyone see the prog about Tornado's last night? We could end up with more of them to look forward to.

My mum's tree has been there for decades but last week it fell over in the wind, and into her neighbour's garden

I woke up today to find my garden trashed. My green house had blown over, I think I've rescued my mandrake plant. All of my pot shrubs had blown over, a number of pots have smashed too. A real mess.

Oh no what a shame all that hard work gone in one night. Will you be able to rescue any other plants from the wreckage or are they all to badly damaged? I don't suppose insurance covers storm damage does it?

I think the bamboo will live, the palm should be ok, and I really hope the mandrake is ok. The pots I grow saplings in are all everywhere, but I've replanted and with luck should come up. My garden has an eight foot wall around it, so I surprised the wind did as much damage as it did.
Insurance will cover storm damage, but it won't buy me a new mandrake plant if that's 'had it'.

This is it's first winter. I brought twelve seeds from eBay, but only got one plant from them. I gave a few away to other people for them to try and grow one, but I was the lucky one It was thrown from it's pot, but I don't think the root was damaged much, so I'm hoping it'll be ok.
