Well we are stillworking on the garden and have moved plants around, got the trellis up and laid the slabs to expand the patio. Today we are moving the Marjoram, a Fushia and a Chrysanthamum so we can make that bit of the border a bit bigger and grow some veg in it. The runner beans and courgettes will go there and maybe some toms as well. Then next week we will hopefully be making a start on my sons veg plot provided he has got in the compost to fill the raised bed that is. Next year we will have our own compost hopefully as we will have a compost bin soon. So I will be busy for the rest of the in the garden.

Well here is the ersult of the hard work we have put into the garden. This was the garden last May 2006 This is the new trellis we put up This is the new pathway See the difference? It was hard work but well worth the effort. Now all we have to do is build the BBQ, it is going to be small and will be brick with a concrete slab sort like a table as we will be using the throw away BBQ trays that conatin the charcoal and have a grill on top as well in a foil tray. Thay way we don't have to store it in the winter and can use the table for other things when it is not being used as a BBQ.

That forest bark path looks great. I'm going to do something like that down my plot at some point.

I know it sounds daft but the bark path makes the garden look bigger somehow. Maybe because it blends into the borders. It was easy to do as well. We used the weed control fabric ( not the plastic sort it is like cloth). We cut it into manageable strips about a metre and laid that down first and overlapped the next strip and used metal 'U' shaped pegs to hold it down. Then we simply split open the bark bags and raked it out over the area. For our garden it took 11 bags of bark we have ben saving up to get them and found some that were 3 for £10 and in 100 litre bags not a bad bargain. So we got 6 of them, we had already bought 5 bags that were on offer. We did the path yesterday, not bad for an afternoons work, I hurt today but the rewards far out weigh the pain.

We are going to build a sort of BBQ. It will be a table made from bricks and a concrete slad, we will use the disposable trays you can get they come in packs of 4. We don't have space to store a proper one and keeping one outside is not an option, too tempting for those with sticky fingers. We can use the table for other things and have it for the BBQ as well so it will be practical all year round. That is unless Colin changes his mind of course, he does that a lot when planning things. I think we are going to do one thing and we end up doing something quite different. So we will see what happens.
